Winter weather can't hold this Swim Mom down!

This has been a year of snowstorms - but only on weekends with swim meets.   I'm a swim mom with 3 kids.  We've been in the sport quite a few years now - we're usually prepared for anything.  It started in Dec. last year - the first swim meet we were to attend - TYR cup in Phila - only 2 inches of snow - but perhaps a warning?  The following weekend - the State Meet - at GCIT.  Canceled when we were hit with a blizzard of over 2 FEET of snow.  This meet was rescheduled at the end of Jan.  but this time - all the way up at Ft. Dix.  Good mom that I am - I drove Friday night so one daughter could swim the mile, and the other a 500.  Back again Saturday morning with the oldest daughter - then home to drop her off and pick up the other two who swam later in the day (it's a 1.25 hour drive - so 2.5 hours round trip)  While the younger 2 were swimming - the snow started falling - again.  We decided to stay over in a motel - meaning oldest daughter would miss her meet in the morning because I couldn't get home to get her.  Meaning I had to sleep in what I had on.  Meaning the girls didn't get a chance to dry their towels.  Meaning we had dinner of hot pizza, and breakfast of cold pizza.  Then - in Feb - again we're schedule for a swim meet at the College of New Jersey - and we get hit with another foot of snow.  Tomorrow starts 4 days of Junior Olympic swimming - and we'll be there everyday.  No snow is forcasted - so keep your fingers crossed!

Oh, by the way:

The day I got married - 14 years ago - it started to snow.  By the new morning - NJ had been struck by the worst snow storm in history - over 3 feet.  Good thing I didn't have any immediate travel plans for a honeymoon!
